NOMINATIONS are now open for the 8th Search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (Tayo), the country's leading award for exceptional Filipino youth groups.
Tayo board member Maria Reburiano on Friday said the search is open to all youth groups, organizations, clubs, and societies composed of at least 15 members, whose ages must be between 15 to 30 years old.

"Organizations shall be judged based on their project entry that made an impact in their schools or communities. The way they handle their finances and how they are productive will also be looked into," Reburiano said during Kapehan sa PIA media forum.
"Usually kasi, individuals are recognized through awards but not groups. We see to it that when organizations are given recognition we are encouraging positive progress which can only be made through the harmonious cooperation of people, most especially the youth as they will be the ones to have an impact on the country's future," Reburani added.
In the city, Reburiano said Tayo regularly gets around 20 to 25 entries every year out of the 250 entries it gets.
Two youth organizations in the city have so far gained recognition from said event: Kaakbay (Kapansanan Akibat sa Kaunlaran ng Bayan) and the Watershed Youth Management Council.
Reburiano also emphasized that a project proposal does not qualify as an entry.
Apart from the award, the winning organizations will receive a P50,000 grant for funding of new projects or to continue long-term programs, and a special trophy sculpted by Toym De Leon Imao.
