DAVAO City's security blanket is in place as thousands of Dabawenyos are expected to troop to cemeteries in the city on November 1 and 2.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Ramon Apolinario said there is no "imminent" terrorist threat in the city. He added they are not taking chances and will continue to strengthen their measures against any form of threats.

Apolinario said what they are more concerned about is the bringing in of bladed weapons, firearms, stereos, liquors and other banned items into the cemeteries. He said it is also prohibited to be playing loud music and to gamble inside the cemeteries.
Apolinario warned that they will not hesitate in arresting and filing appropriate charges against violators.
Illegal possession of bladed weapon would suffer the penalty of imprisonment of not less than one month or more than one year. Illegal gun possession, on the other hand, has a penalty of six years imprisonment and a fine of not less than P15,000.
The City Police and Task Force Davao are on heightened alert for the rest of the weekend.
Aside from cemeteries, police are also guarding subdivisions and other residential areas that will be left without anyone guarding for the weekend.
