A SOLDIER was shot dead while driving his motorcycle on his way home to Kilometer 27, Licanan, Bunawan, Davao City at past midnight Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as Corporal Benjie Hupayan, 37, a member of the 11th Intelligence Security Group (ISG) based in Camp Panacan, and resident of Purok 6, Dona Andrea, Asuncion, Davao del Norte.

Based on the spot report of Senior Police Officer 2 Restituto Pelenio of the Bunawan Police Station, the victim was onboard his red Honda XR motorcycle with plate number 4188-KB when shot dead at around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim succumbed to multiple stab wounds and died on the spot.
Police recovered empty bullet shells from a caliber .45 gun at the crime scene and the victim's wallet which contained important documents like his mission order.
The evidences are now in the custody of the Scene of the Crime Operatives.
Police still do not have any suspect. (AD)
