THE Mayor Inday Sara and Vice Mayor Rody Duterte Araw ng Dabaw Boxing Tournament will be staged on Sunday at Barangay 5-A Bankerohan Gym.

Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) officer-in-charge Pochollo Elegino bared this in text messages to Sun.Star Davao Thursday.

Elegino said the meet, which is sanctioned by the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (Abap), offers cash prizes of P600 for all winners and P400 for all losers with corresponding medals.

A total 15 bouts in juniors division will be featured in the event that expects boxers from all over the Davao Region.

Elegino also said the Araw softball tournament being played on weekends is ongoing.

Commercial basketball, age-group and open chess, taekwondo, billiards, table tennis, duckpin bowling and cycling, among others, were recently conducted as part of the annual Araw ng Dabaw sports festival. (MLSA)
