"The Kadayawan sportsfest is a go. The table tennis competition will start on the first weekend of August while the rest of the events will be held in the next remaining weekends of the Kadayawan month," Elegino said.
He said the events entered will just be the same as those included last year. His office, however, is still finalizing the budget and the final list and schedule of the other events.
The Mayor Inday Sara Lumba Bisiklita sa Kadayawan, meanwhile, will hit the road on August 13. It will be a road bike competition for open elite riders. Cash prizes will be up for grabs in the bikefest.
Age-group chess, open chess, dama, athletics, basketball, taekwondo, volleyball, badminton, tennis, swimming, bodybuilding and boxing, among others, are expected to be in this year's roster of events.
All city-funded sports competitions are free registration including the Kadayawan and Araw ng Dabaw sportsfests. (MLSA)
