DBL-PCCL Mindanao finals get underway

THE Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings of Davao City battles Holy Trinity College (HTC) of General Santos City in the main match of the 2011 Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Mindanao Finals today at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center today. Gametime is at 5 p.m.

The Kings emerged champion in the 2011 Kadayawan sa Dabaw Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament in August to represent the city to the Mindanao championship.

The 3:30 p.m curtain raiser will see Ateneo de Zamboanga University colliding with STI College of Cagayan de Oro City in the cagefest presented by the Duterte Basketball League and organized by Liga Dabaw with the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.


Visiting teams have arrived in Davao City yesterday and are all raring to give the Dabawenyos a stiff competition.

Today's winners vie for the crown tomorrow, Wednesday, at 3 p.m. while the losers will play for third at 1 p.m.

The Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) Sailors ruled the Mindanao finals last year, thus, the Kings will have their hands full for the city's title-defense in the two-day event
