"A total of 31 teams have already confirmed to join. Interested teams may still sign up next week before tournament opens," Alquiza said.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)-sanctioned cagefest will feature the 36 years old and above, 35-below and open categories.
The 35-above division, which had a huge turnout of entries, will have four brackets in the single round-robin eliminations stage. The top team in each group will advance to the semi-finals where the No. 1 team will play No. 4 and the other match will pit No. 2 against No. 3.
The open division, which welcomes college varsity and commercial players/teams, as well as the 36-above event will only have one bracket where squads will play the single round-robin format to determine the top four teams that will advance to the semis.
Trophies, medals and cash prizes await the winners.
Individual awards will also be given to the most valuable player, best in scoring, best in steal, best in assist, best in blocks, best in rebound and best three-point player for every category.
Registration fee is P5,000 per team. Complete set of official jersey uniform costs P650.
