UM rules DC-Prisaa judofest

THE University of Mindanao (UM) ruled the Davao City Private Schools Athletic Association (DC-Prisaa) Meet judo competition held at the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Gym.
The UM judokas bagged a total of ten gold medals, three silvers and two bronzes to grab the overall title.

Archrival Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) copped two golds and one silver to grab the second spot, while unheralded Mats College of Technology clinched one gold, two silvers and three bronzes to finish third.
UM's Christian Ly Rondina defeated Jason Abrahan to win the men’s super extra lightweight division title, while teammate Romnick Luzon annexed the extra lightweight gold over Matt Bernales of HCDC and Wilson Bonhoc of UM.
Jovanne Bacorta gave UM another gold in men's half-middleweight division.
UM bet Dulce Amor Herdiles also shared the limelight by clinching the women's super extra lightweight gold, defeating Pamela Tampipi of HCDC and Shenette Esperat of Mats who occupied the next two spots.
Damanique Dioquino of UM captured the women’s half lightweight gold while Shiela Tanlocsin topped the lightweight division.
The other gold medalists for UM were extra lightweight Cyndi Amor Rodriguez, middleweight Candida Apostol and half heavyweight Chello Tinga.
DC-Prisaa assistant executive director Joaquin “Boy” Sarabia said the gold medalists will represent the city to the regional eliminations slated February 24 to 26 at the UM Matina campus.
