Unbeaten teams clash in Phoenix Cup elims

UNBEATEN teams Zoelo Diesel Oil and Zoelo Extreme will clash against each other when the Trip Ko Phoenix Fuels U-16 Basketball Cup resumes on 10 a.m. Sunday at the Almendras Gym Recreation Center.
Zoelo Diesel hacked out an 80-72 win over Cyclomax 4T while Zoelo Extreme nipped 2T Max, 51-50, in the opener last weekend.

The Cyclomax Titan, which earlier pulled off a 79-74 win over Accelerate Supreme, will try to grab its second when as it will collide with Accelerate Vega at 8:30 a.m. in the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)-sanctioned cagefest presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc.
(PPPI) and organized by DCRC officer-in-charge Goldie Delvo.
Cycle Fork will also gun for win No. 2 against Accelerate Supreme in the 7 a.m. curtain raiser. Cycle Fork clobbered Accelerate Vega, 69-54, in their debut outing.
The main match set at 11:30 a.m. will be between first game losers Cyclomax 4T Force and 2T Max.
Players, meanwhile, are required to report for practice on Saturday with the following schedule: 6 to 7:15 a.m. Cyclomax Titan, 7:15-8:30 a.m. Accelerate Supreme, 8:30-9:45 a.m. Cycle Fork, 9:45-11 a.m. Accelerate Vega, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Zoelo Diesel Oil, 12:15-1:30 p.m. 4T Force, 1:30-2:45 p.m. Zoelo Extreme and 2:45-4 p.m. 2T Max.
The only non-school-based league in the region is being lauded for providing opportunities to student players from public and private schools and out-of-school youths.
PPPI spent some P500,000 for uniforms, players' and coaches' allowances for every practice and actual game, officiating fees and venue rental, among others.
