Reyes rules U-16 chess

ATENEO de Davao University student Ralph Reyes captured the title of the 79th BKCC Under-16 Rapid Chess Tournament held at the Blue Knights Chess Club over the weekend.
Reyes tallied 4.5 points to grab the champion's trophy of the five-round Swiss System format tournament.

Christopher Gunida of Mindanao Christian Foundation College and Seminary (MCFCS) and Ralph Villanueva of the Assumption College of Davao (ACD) scored identical four points to grab the next two spots. Gunida and Villanueva took home medals.
University of Mindanao's Zsuzsa Grace Tabudlong, Manambulan Elementary School's Earl Ray Mantilla, University of the Immaculate Conception's James Apolonia, and MCFCS's Chrisus Joshua and Chrisus Joseph Sarchez shared the fourth to ninth places with similar three points.
The chessfest, organized by BKCC director and national arbiter Ronnie Tabudlong, was supported by the Davao City Sports Council, Inc. (RPSA)
