ATENEO de Davao University's Eric Patrick Dulay of Cyclomax Titan and Sean Africa of 2T Max were offered varsity scholarships from prestigious schools in Manila during recent games of the 3rd Trip Ko Phoenix Fuels Under-16 Basketball Cup at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center (DCRC).
DCRC officer-in-charge and tournament co-organizer Goldie Delvo, in a press conference at Probinsiya Tuesday, said scouting teams from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman and Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC)-Manila approached the two players.

She said former PBA player and EAC coach Gerry Esplana, also Valenzuela city councilor, witnessed the February 12 games.
"The visiting scouts saw the potential of Dulay and Africa. I hope they will continue to perform well in the tournament," she said.
Dulay scored a game-high 21 points in their loss to Zoelo Diesel Oil while Africa also posted 21 markers in their win against the Accelerate Vega.
Dulay said, "I'm thankful to Phoenix for giving me the opportunity to be discovered. UP and EAC has already showed interest in my potential. My parents are still looking into their offers."
Africa, meanwhile, said, "I am happy to have impressed the scouts. I'm grateful for this opportunity."
Delvo added the elimination round of the Phoenix Basketball Cup will resume on Sunday.
