BMX contest set Sunday

SOME 85 BMX riders and inline skaters are set to showcase their stunts as the Street Jam BMX Street Flatland and Aggressive Inline Competition unreels at the Deglar Commercial Complex, Km. 5 J.P. Laurel Ave, Bajada on Sunday.

Organizer Khryss "Chunks" Pude, in an e-mail to Sun.Star Davao, said the event is the first extreme sporting event series for this year.

The BMX street competition will feature expert and novice divisions while BMX flatland and inline skates competition will both be open events.

Cash prizes and items are at stake for the top three winners of each category. The first placers from each category will take home the total amount of registration in their respective categories while the next two placers will receive items from Team Chunks, Express Laboratories and Scrap Bikes.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Sunday followed by the tournament proper set at 1 p.m. Entry fee is P70.

Davao City bets will have their hands full against riders from Tagum City, Digos City, Cotabato City, General Santos City and Kidapawan City.

The Davao Auto Show and Audio Mobile Group (Dasmag) will hold a mobile audio demo.

The event is presented by Team Chunks and Kurv Industries. It is backed up by Scrap Bikes, Express Laboratory Digital Printing, Pudesigns Graphics and Dasmag. (RPSA)
