DAVAO Oriental's Jeleardo Amazona and Island Garden City of Samal's Lenelyn Milo ruled their respective events at the close of the 1st leg Dunlop-KCTC Mindanao Junior Tennis Series 2012 at the Kidapawan City Tennis Club in Kidapawan City over the weekend.
Amazona turned back Mikko Ringia of Koronadal city, 10-6, to capture the boys 16-under title, while Milo overcame Nikki Rei Arandia of Tupi, south Cotabato, 10-8, to annex the girls 18-under crown.

Rogelio Estanio Jr. of Parang, Maguindanao lived up to his billing as he escaped a 10-8 win over Mikko in boys 18-under finals of the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta)-sanctioned Group 3 event.
Hometown bet Jzash Canja stamped Melanie Tubbs of Davao City, 10-2, for the girls 16-under title, while Abson John Alejandre and Diadem Sasota of Midsayap, North Cotabato shared top honors in the 14-under.
Alejandre whipped Jeff Alqueza of Kidapawan City, 10-3, in the boys' side as Sasota survived a 10-9 win over Carlyn Bless Guarde of Sultan Kudarat in the girls' event.
Guarde, however, avenged her loss by beating Sasota, 10-8, in their girls 12-under titular showdown.
Koronadal City's Janus Ringia, meanwhile, topped the boys 12-under after crushing Nicole Gorospe of Koronadal City, 10-6, even as the 10-under unisex title went to Sultan Kudarat's Mark Alfred Directo who outclassed Brent Magno, 10-4.
Aside from Philta ranking points, champions and runners-up received creatively designed trophies, shirts and tennis thermo bags with strings.
KCTC president Yumar’s Comendador thanked sponsor Asia Traders Corporation, exclusive distributor of Dunlop and Slazenger.
Philta regional vice president Juanito Cansino Jr., for his part, thanked Wilmer Estrellado, Barrios family, Grilletos and Survive Inn.
