Solido girls bag 2 titles in Bukidnon-A A +A

THE Solido Football Club girls team ended their summer football tour in dominating fashion as they bagged two titles in the just-concluded 1st Hon. Congressman Florencio "Doc Boy" Flores Open Football Festival 2012 at the Capitol Grounds of Malaybalay City in Bukidnon.
The Julio Orcasitas-mentored Solido shutout Malaybalay FC, 4-0, to clinch the girls U17 title. The Dabawenya booters earlier blanked Manolo Fortich, 3-0, in the semi-finals. The latter settled for third instead.
Solido's Janna Barcemo took home the best striker honors while teammate Sanaa Jikiri was hailed best goalkeeper.
Solido FC also captured the women's open crown by hacking out a 2-0 win over JRFC of Xavier University, 2-0, courtesy of Cherry Vilchez and Nina Arrieta.
Vilchez and Keith Shelly Canton romped away with the best striker and best goalkeeper awards, respectively.
Team manager Buboy Arrieta, in an interview, said in the vernacular: "Grabe ang exposure sa among team this summer and nakita nako nga kaya na kaayo nila idominate ang women's open and ang U17 divisions. Plano nako na ipacompete sila against boys pud para machallenge sila and dili mahimong stagnant ang ilang performance (Our girls teams have been very exposed this summer and they have dominated the open and U17 categories. I will have them play against boys to challenge them and to also improve their performance)."
The U17 team was also composed of Inah Rosales, Nina Yanto, Maryjoy Indac, Agot Danton and Annika Ong while the women's team is reinforced by Joy Rivera and Jerika Cantila.
With the victory, Solido bagged a total of four titles in the U17 category and three crowns in women's open after their summer football tour. (RPSA)
