GII Davao, FGBI Panabo post basketball wins

THE Guardians International Inc. (GII) 1st District Davao City Chapter and the Federal Guardians Brotherhood Inc. (FGBI) Panabo City Chapter posted separate wins at the start of the FGBI 1st Inter-Branch Basketball Tournament 2012 at the Barangay 35-D Covered Court Sunday.
GII 1st District defeated FGBI Davao City Chapter, 63-60, behind MG Phers who scored 26 points. FGBI Davao also fired 26 in a losing cause.
FGBI Panabo, meanwhile, edged the Tanod Bayan Kontra Krimen (Tabakk), 86-82. Johnny Hista of FGBI Panabo canned 33 points while Tabakk's MG Patok exploded with game-high 36 points.
The Guardians Socialite Society, Inc., for its part, hacked out a 60-53 victory over the United Guardians Foundation Inc. (UGFI) to enter the winning column.
Cash prizes are at stake for the top winners of the cagefest that will resume on Sunday at the same venue.
Special awards will also be given to the most valuable player, best three-point shooter, best defensive team, best in uniform and best muse.
The cagefest is organized by FGBI under tournament chairpersons MFGBF Jake "Justice" Romero and Ronald "Founder Glorget" Egpit to unify the different FGBI chapters in the Davao Region. (RPSA)
