Sandawa Apo run slated on July 15

THE Sandawa-Apo ’86 Fun Adventure Run 2012 will hit the road in an out-and-back course at the Rizal Park at 5 a.m. on July 15.

This was bared by Sandawa-Apo Mountaineering and Ecology Club (Samec) chair John Irene Del Campo during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at Tower Inn Tuesday.

Del Campo said the footrace will benefit Sitio Panipasan Elementary School, adding: “Samec has been supporting the Akyat Aral Project for three years so this time around we will have this fun adventure run as fund-raiser for our beneficiary."

The event will feature men’s and women’s 3k, 5k and 10k categories that offer cash prizes to winners.

Co-organizer Alex Amper, meanwhile, said there will be added excitement for participants as there will be some new twists in the footrace.

Registration fees are P300 (3K, 5K) and P350 (10) inclusive of singlet, race bib, snacks and a raffle entry.
