Instatech FC, M7 United post contrasting wins

THE Instatech FC and M7 United posted contrasting wins at the start of the Davao Football Association (DFA) Men's 2nd Division Football Cup at the Tionko football field on Sunday.
Instatech FC dusted off Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Matina, 9-1, behind the hat-tricks of Bayani Vandenbroeck (36th, 67th, 74th minutes), Jhon Tamay (17th, 29th, 84th) and Redford Jumag (first, 86th, 94th).
Hans Arrieta netted a goal in the 77th for Ateneo Matina.
M7 United, meanwhile, escaped with a 1-0 victory over the Solido Fil-Chi United courtesy of Herbert Saril who scored in the 13th.
Davao Crocodile FC also shared the limelight by beating Garelli FC, 7-2. Eric Sedieghfour sparked Davao Crocodile FC with four goals in the eighth, 68th, 70th and 72nd as teammates Mari Cabalfin (25th, 57th) and Jervy Paalan (20th) also added goals.
Garelli FC leaned on the goals of John Javier (41st) and Ricardo Yañez (81st) for the losing cause.
The PTA Boys, for its part, subdued Intangibles FC, 4-2, through the efforts of James Altivo (29th), Rene Valdesco (32nd), Jorge Valenzona (38th) and Edgar Sobo (46th). Francis Acala of Intangibles FC made two goals.
Games will resume on Sunday at the same venue.
The champion will win a trophy and a slot to the first division while the next three placers will also receive trophies.
The bootfest is sanctioned by DFA under president Edward Lam with Julio Orcasitas as tournament director.
