Davao tchoukball team plays Malaysia A

THE Dabawenyos-bannered Philippine U15 boys Tchoukball Team plays Malaysia Team A at 10 a.m. today, Saturday, as the 2nd Asia Pacific Youth Tchouball Championships opens in Melaka, Malaysia.
The Jun Mendiola-coached national team relies on the services of team captain Grant Wee Eng who steered the team to a runner-up finish in the 2nd Philippine Open Tchoukball Championships in Cebu last year.
Wee Eng, in a press conference at Dexter's Pizza Stadium recently, said he is confident that they will be able to bring home the title having prepared for the meet.
"Dili pud maingon nga naburn-out mi sa training kay nag-enjoy man mi. Unta ra pud makadaug mi para makadala mi ug pride and honor dili lang sa Davao City kundi sa Pilipinas pud (We enjoyed our training. I hope we can win and bring honor to Davao and the country)," Wee Eng said.
The national team also expects a tough competition against World No. 1 later at 6 p.m.
Cyril Babor, Tam2x Berjame, Mico Bontia, EJ Go, Ervin Go, Trix Mendiola, Jay Nebrada, Jose Pabalan, Joaquin Pimentel, Francis Puentespina, Lloyd Samiana and Xandro Zarate also compose the squad with Cindy Matabalan as assistant coach. (RPSA)
