THE Accelerate Supreme (AS) and the Accelerate Vega (AV) prevailed over their respective rivals in the resumption of the 4th Trip Ko Phoenix Fuels U16 Basketball Cup at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center yesterday.
The Rhoel Josol-mentored AS rolled past Cyclomax 4T Force (C4TF), 81-66, to grab a 3-2 win-loss card. Ronald Jabican sparked AS with 23 points and Bernard Gutierrez added 12.
Josol, in an interview, said in the vernacular that they made adjustment on their defense and scored on fast-break points as they also limited Vega point guard Jeucharist Binoya's attempts.
He went on saying that they will still have to improve on their defense to keep winning and keep their patience in scoring.
C4TF head coach Dindo Pastor, on the other hand, said the team lacked the services of Jeffrey Damag who had to leave the game to participate in another cagefest.
The Rhoderick Conda-coached AV, meanwhile, thrashed the Zoelo Diesel Oil, 95-64, behind Jan Rex Tahanlangit and Keneth Jay Rizane who scored 22 and 14, respectively.
The cagefest is presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. (PPPI) and sanctioned by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).RPSA
