Banlasan shines

PLUTIE Banlasan and Joe Torres bagged titles in the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) July Bowler of the Month held at the Fairlanes Bowling Center on Sunday evening.
Banlasan came back from a first game loss to defeat Nonoy Baluyot in the sudden death match of their step-the-ladder finals, 123-115, in class A.
Baluyot arranged a titular showdown against Banlasan by beating Mads Lauro, 129-121.
Banlasan took the first spot and earned a twice-to-beat advantage coming into the finals after rolling 239 pins in the two-game elimination round.
Torres, meanwhile, hit a total of 207 pinfalls after two games to clinch the Class B crown at the expense of Kharlo Cano and Oca Aplicador who placed second and third, respectively.
Migz Morales also shared the limelight by seizing the Class C title after rolling past Jayvee Baluyot, 153-104.
Mathess Domino, for her part, scored a twin kill over Vilma Villaluz, 119-91, 110-97, to clinch the ladies title.
The winners in each division went home with cash prizes and trophies. The SBC Weekly Dalawahan Tournament, meanwhile, will resume Sunday at the same venue. (RPSA)
