Sara-Rody Inter-Collegiate basketball underway Monday

TEN teams will vie for honors in the 27th Kadayawan sa Dabaw Mayor Inday Sara and Vice Mayor Rody Duterte Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament that will kick off at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Davao City Recreation Center (DCRC) Almendras Gym.
Defending champion Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings will have their hands full with the presence of multi-titled University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats, Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders, Mats College of Technology Navigators, Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) Sailors, Ateneo de Davao University Blue Knights, Emar College Red Horse, DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP) Orange Mustangs, John Paul II College of Davao and AMA Computer College.
Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) officer-in-charge Pochollo Elegino said teams will be grouped into two in the elimination stage. The top two squads in each bracket will advance into the semi-finals.
The champion will receive a cash prize of P10,000 and the right to represent the city to the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Mindanao Finals slated in October in Iligan City.
The runner-up will pocket P7,000 while the next two placers will go home with P5,000 and P3,000 in the annual cagefest organized by the SDD-CMO as part of the Kadayawan Sports Festival.
