Holy Child routs Agro, wins SBP-DBL semi-final spot

THE Holy Child School of Davao (HCSD) routed Agro Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP), 87-65, on Sunday to secure a division 1 semi-finals berth in the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and Duterte Basketball League (DBL) Inter-Private High School Junior Championships at the Gaisano Grand Citimall SkyGym.
The Ildefonso Cunanan-mentored HCSD led the team standing with five wins and one loss after the eliminations to earn a twice-to-beat advantage in the semis of the cagefest organized and sanctioned by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Mindanao Cluster B director Regino "Boy" Cua.
The 4-2 AIFCP, however, also barged into the semis for placing second.
The Assumption College of Davao (ACD), meanwhile, hacked out an 81-62 win over Jose Maria College (JMC) 81-62 to improve to a 3-3 card.
JMC, Ateneo de Davao University and Ford Academy of the Arts (Ford), figuring in a three-way tie with similar 2-3 mark, will have to play their final games in the elimination round on Saturday to determine which two other squads will enter the semis round.
In division 2, Davao Jones Academy (DJA) and the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) booked semis spots after turning back their respective rivals at the Bankerohan Gym on Saturday.
DJA cruised past Addu-B, 78-60, before routing the Philippine Women's College (PWC) 68-43.
UIC, meanwhile, thrashed the Brokenshire Science High School (BSHS), 78-30, and followed it up with a 69-66 win over the Precious International School of Davao (PISD).
PISD also took a semis berth by whipping BSHS, 72-58, as Addu-B overwhelmed PWC, 77-50. (RPSA)
