Apo Golf ladies lead after Day 1

I'm still here in Cagayan de Oro with the rest of my team mates. I have no news to share except for what's happening here in the WGAP Luzvimin Golf Tournament which is at Pueblo de Oro Golf & Country Club. Hey, always nalang ako writing about men's tournaments. Give us a break. It's our turn! For a change, I'll write about our ladies' tournament.

By the way, WGAP stands for Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines. And, FYI, my team is up by two strokes in the Pearl Division. Yehey! I hope my team wins. Today, Friday, is the last day of the tournament.

Here are the results of the 20th WGAP Luzvimin Golf Tournament after Day 1.

In the Pearl Division which is Class C, Apo Golf Club is in first place with 174 points. Villamor Golf Club is in second place with 172 points. In third place is Davao City Golf Club with 170 points. In fourth place is Camp Aguinaldo with 138 points. In fifth place is Baguio Country Club with 128 points. And in sixth place is Victorias Golf and Country Club with 126 points.

In the Ruby Division which is Class B, in first place is Tagaytay Highlands with 199 points. In second place is Forest Hills Golf & Country Club with 193 points. In third place is Bacolod Golf & Country Club with 181 points. In 4th place is Negros Occidental Golf & Country Club with 178 points. In fifth place is Riviera Golf Club with 172 points. And in sixth is Manila Golf with 145 points.

In the Diamond Division which is Class A, Del Monte Golf Club is in first place with 254 points, followed by Manila Southwoods with 233 points and Sta. Elena Golf Club with 202 points. In fourth place is Pueblo de Oro Golf & Country Club team 1 with 194 points. In fifth place is Mactan Island Golf Club with 173 points and sixth is Pueblo de Oro Golf & Country Club team 2 with 157 points. Orchard Golf & Country Club with 124 points to be at seventh spot.

In the Individual Competition, after day one, the top players in the Championship Division (0-9) are Eva Minoza (Del Monte) with 55 points, Sunshine Baraquiel (Manila Southwoods) with 53 points and Apple Jean Fudolin (Del Monte) with 52 points.

In the Class A Division (10-16), after day one the top players are Sofia Chabon (Del Monte) with 48 points, Ma. Cecilia Tan (Forest Hills) with 46 points and Deanna Samaniego (Manila Southwoods) with 45 points.

In the Class B Division (17-22), after day 1, the top players are Hedy See (Tagaytay Highlands) with 45 points, Totelle Dimson (Tagaytay Highlands) with 37 points, and tied for third place are Rosalinda Inson (Pueblo de Oro), Ivy Macainan (Riviera), Nora Sy (Baguio), Eunice Park (Pueblo de Oro) and Beth Crisologo (Apo Golf Club) with 36 points.

In the Class C Division (23-40), the top players after the opening day are Jessalyn Tan (Tagaytay Highlands) with 35 points, tied for 2nd place are Stella Barnes (Davao City Golf Club), Maria Ymir Oliquino (Sta. Elena) and Neneng Revilleza (Davao City Golf Club) with 34 points.

I am hoping that my team will win. Wish us luck. Good Luck to the ladies of the Davao City Golf Club team too. They are down by just 4 points against us. It is still anybody's game. Yikes!
