A Strong RMH-VMO squad for Kadayawan cagefest

THE Royal Mandaya Hotel (RMH)-Vice Mayor's Office team is expected to field a strong line-up for the upcoming 2012 Kadayawan Commercial Basketball Tournament slated to open on August 28 at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center.
Jek-Jek Melendres, executive assistant to RMH's executive vice-president Glenn Escandor, met veteran players and imports of coach Van Halen Parmis at the Davao International Airport.
Parmis' wards including former PBA players Marlou Aquino and EJ Fiehl, Marc Barroca of B-Meg Llamados, Rudy Lingganay, Larry Rodriguez, Roni Matias, Mark Andaya, Christian Calaguio, Ramsey Williams, Glenn Bolocon Jr., JR Gerilla, Marlon Basco, Devon Sullivan and Cameroonian imports six-foot-nine JR Wade and six-four Marco James were also set to play in Mawab, Compostela Valley as of Thursday.
Melendres, however, told Sun.Star Davao: "We will have yet to finalize the composition of the RMH-VMO team but we will acquire the services of Parmis' players. As per Sir Glenn (Escandor), we will field a strong team in the tournament."
The annual commercial cagefest, sanctioned by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Mindanao Cluster B director Regino "Boy" Cua, has been a regular main attraction of the Kadayawan sa Dabaw sports festival.
