Cero wins Kadayawan 9-Ball

DAVAO City native Darwin Cero demolished Freddie Garcia, 9-4, to emerge champion in the Kadayawan Festival 2012 9-Ball Billiard Tournament that concluded Sunday at the Jan Carlo Billiard Hall along Claveria St.
The Piapi Boulevard-based Cero booked a finals berth by routing Tacurong City's Arnold Caro, 7-2, in the semis while Garcia also made his way to the finals by whipping Alex Villadores, 7-3.
Cero earlier defeated former Sun.Star Super Balita Mindanao Open 9-Ball Challenge champion Valeriano "Val" Pajuay, Jr.,7-5, in the quarter-finals.
Cero pocketed a cash prize of P20,000 while Garcia settled for P10,000.
Next two placers Villadores and Caro went home with P5,000 and P3,000, respectively. The quarter-finalists received the consolation prize of P1,000 each.
The cuefest was organized and sanctioned by the Davao Billiards Association Inc. with tournament director Menlee Migellano.
It was funded by the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) under officer-in-charge Pocholo M. Elegino. (RPSA)
