Tapao, Santero rule bikefest

TEAM Inday Sara riders Nikko Tapao and Davao City's Fortunato "Toi" Santero clinched the titles in their respective divisions in the just-concluded KadayaJuan Road Bike Challenge held at the SM City Davao.
Tapao emerged champion in the junior U20 category by clocking one hour 34 minutes and 32 seconds. He bested teammate Eric Dave Apenar who checked in at 1:36:45. Tagum City's Raymund Garciano settled for third while Team Inday Sara's Aldrein Awit finished fourth.
PhilCycling deputy secretary general Salvador "Jun" Paholio, in an e-mailed statement furnished to Sun.Star Davao, said: "I am very happy with the result of the race especially for the team Inday Sara Riders took advantage of training program given by former Southeast Asian (SEA) Games gold medalists Dominic Carpio and Randy Oca."
Santero, meanwhile, annexed the executive title at the expense of General Santos City's Gerry Castillon and Davao Pobre Bikers Association (Dapoba) bet Arman Talorong who placed second and third, respectively.
Reimon Lapaza shared the limelight by winning the open elite individual crown over Junrey Navarra of General Santos City who placed second and Ronnie Urdaneta of Team Inday Sara who came third.
Extreme Rider, for its part, ruled the open elite team category by submitting an aggregate time of 10:21:22. Team Inday Sara-A (10:46:45) was second, while Cycle Line B placed third. Team Inday Sara-B salvaged fourth place.
Cash prizes and medals were given to the winners of each category.
The bikefest was presented by Juan Radio Ang Radio ni Juan 102.7 and sanctioned by Philcycling Mindanao.
