PAL Ladies Interclub Golf Tournament starts Sept. 18

IN A few days, the competitive golfing ladies of Davao are headed for Iloilo. All three golf clubs of Davao are represented and they will be competing against 26 other clubs coming from other parts of the country and abroad.

Several members of my team, the Apo Golf team, are experiencing aches and pains. Naku! Perfect timing, right? Cecile Co is having problems with her feet. Too much dancing, I guess. Irene Shinmura has fever. Beth Crisologo and I are having problems with our joints. In fact, the famous golf physical therapist, Elmo del Rosario recently paid both of us a visit. Sigh. I hope we will all be fine in time for the PAL Ladies Interclub Golf Tournament from September 18 to 21.

By the way, I have the list of players of all the Davao clubs participating. There are 8 players to a team.

Davao City Golf Club Ladies Team-Josephine Vergara, Stella Barnes, Rosalie Antivo, Roselyn Sara, Rohelyn Revilleza and Ailyn Quiachon.

There were many tournaments held last week here in Davao. And there are more tournaments to come. Too many tournament fees to pay. Ouch! For some, they need a bigger bodega to store their winnings which include washing machines, electric fans, microwave ovens, and more. A few golfers are actually treating golf as a career. Pretty soon, they can open an appliance store.

Mga misis and moms, not only do you have to provide your children with a bigger allowance because of the increase in number of the shopping malls, but you also need to give extra allowance to your hubbies because of the increase in the number of golf tournaments.

One of the most awaited tournaments of the year is the 10th Anselmo M. Ferrazzini Memorial Golf Tournament which is on September 15 & 16, 2012. It holds the record of serving the most food and drinks on the fairways while the players are competing. Imagine! Free pizza and more! Bahala na matalo, basta sobrang busog!

Also, the 16th Southern Mindanao Golf Tournament is set on September 20 at Apo Golf Club.

The 4th Davao Eagle Masters Cup is scheduled on September 22-23, 2012 at Rancho Palos Verdes and Apo Golf Club.

I am happy. Why? Because the caddies and umbrella girls will have a lot of income this month.
