KORONADAL City's Janus Ringia survived a 6-4, 5-7, 10-7 win over Duma Hakim Boloto of Marawi City to annex the boys 12-under crown of the just-concluded 2nd leg Dunlop-Atty. Palasan Mindanao Junior Tennis Series 2012 at the Nazareth Tennis Courts in Cagayan de Oro City.
The girls title went to Aubrey Calma who turned back fellow hometown bet Gennifer Pagente, 6-2, 7-5.
Mark Alfred Directo of Isulan Sultan Kudarat, for his part, spanked Zachaeyi Panganiban of Ozamis City 6-0,6-1 to capture the 10-under unisex championship trophy.
Cagayan de Oro's Emmanuel Vacalares Jr. spanked Dawson Ormoc of Dangcagan Bukidnon, 6-3, 6-2 for the boys 14-under crown while Carmela Llavore recovered from a first set loss to beat Angelica Devi Mosqueda, also of Cagayan de Oro, 1-6, 6-2, 11-9 in the distaff side.
Bukidnon's Rolly Saga swept two titles by escaping a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Dave Sebastian of Cagayan de Oro in their boys 16-under titular showdown then he followed it up with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win past Spencer Sagrado in their boys 18-under final.
Ozamis City's Lorainne Barolla and Lykes Batao of Cagayan de Oro topped the girls 16-under and 18-under events, respectively. Barolla outclassed Mosqueda, 6-4, 6-1, while Batao subdued Lysette Palasan, 7-5, 7-5.
Winners received trophies, tennis merchandise and Philippine Tennis Association-ranking points. (MLSA)
