Carl Dave Aseneta of Mats College of Technology lived up to his billing as he kept copped the boys -66 kilograms gold to crown himself back-to-back champion.
Sta. Ana National High School's James Velez, Davao Wisdom Academy's Charisse Aseneta and Holiday Judo Club's Nathaniel Malaki also chipped in golds for the city team backed up by the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.
Velez repeated his 2011 feat by clinching the boys' -50 kgs division gold while Aseneta improved her last year's bronze finish with a golden performance in girls girls' -52 kgs.
Malaki, for his part, topped the boys' 90 kgs. event.

Davao City judo team head coach Paolo Tancontian, Sydney's father, said his daughter played opponents who were heavier than the Dabawenya by around 10 kilos.
"Sydney's standard weight is for the -63 kgs division but the 78, 63 and 57 kgs divisions were merged so she faced heavier opponents," Tancontian said.
