PISD, SFXLC spikers score Daprisa wins

THE Precious International School of Davao (PISD) and St. Francis Xavier Learning Center (SFXLC) each scored twin kills Tuesday at the start of the ongoing Davao Association of Private Schools and Administrators (Daprisa) Games 2012 high school volleyball competition at the Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJKIS).
PISD spanked Davao Central College (DCC) 26-24, 25-13, before escaping a 25-17, 26-24 win over Thompson Christian School (TCS) in girls division.
PISD, thus, paced the volleyfest with a clean 2-0 slate while TCS and Mindanao Christian Foundation College and Seminary (MCFCS) shared the second spot with 2-1 record.
SFXLC, meanwhile, turned back Davao Wisdom Academy (DWA), 25-14, 25-15, then followed it up with a thrilling 25-13, 22-25, 25-15, victory over Ford Academy of the Arts (FAA).
The 2-0 SFXLC paced the boys event along with Sheperd My Lambs Christian College (SMYLCC) that demolished Southpoint School (SPS), 25-17, 25-15, and DWA, 24-26, 25-21, 25-11.
Elimination games were still being played as of Wednesday to determine the quarter-finalists.
In basketball, PISD topped bracket A with three straight wins at the expense of MCFCS (46-25), SFXLC (49-17), and TCS (72-21).
PNJKIS led bracket B with a 2-0 mark while DWA took bracket C's No. 1 post with a 3-0 card.
The champions in each event will be chosen as Unit 9's representatives to the Davao City Athletic Association Meet slated October 22-26. (RPSA)
