9th Gaisano South Cup: ACD, HCSD turn back rivals

THE Assumption College of Davao (ACD) and the Holy Child School of Davao (HCSD) turned back their respective rivals in the junior division 1 of the 9th Gaisano South Cup at the GS SkyGym Saturday.
ACD cruised past Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP), 75-60, behind the heroics of Allyn Bulanadi.
Bulanadi spearheaded the ACD attck with a team high 17 points. ACD's Jhayston Oquias and Jan Patrick Quidato added 16 and 14, respectively.
AIFCP's Clifford Occe¤a, Nicomel Apostol and Andie Pecision combined for 36 in a losing effort for Agro.
HCSD, meanwhile, routed Ford Academy of the Arts (FAA), 77-58.
Rowel Dignos finished with 15 points to lead the scoring for HCSD while Ni¤o Iba¤ez chipped in 14. Nicole Barrera scored 20 points for FAA.
In the junior division 2-C, Lifestream International College (LIC) routed the Philippine Women's College (PWC), 82-64, to enter the winning column.
Jomari Ca¤azares exploded for 29 points to lead LIC while teammate Rey Pamati poured in 27.
Precious International School of Davao (PISD) shared the limelight by thrashing Davao Christian High School (DCHS), 75-46, for a successful debut in junior division 2-D.
Almendro Ca¤ete III sparked PISD with 17 while teammates Jimwell De Castro and John David Mitchell added 12 apiece.
In the cadet division-A, Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) crushed Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS), 60-38.
Emar Human and Environmental College (EHEC) seized its first win in the cadet division-B by dismantling AIFCP, 71-52.
In the mini division-B, AdDU thrashed Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), 131-16, while HCSD won via forfeiture over DCHS.
The tournament is organized by Gaisano Grand Citimall Ilustre Ad and Promo Management. It is sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas under Mindanao Region B director Regino "Boy" Cua.
