THE Women's National Collegiate Association (WNCAA)-Mindanao will get underway on Nov. 24 in separate venues in Davao City.
WNCAA director Arlene de Vera, in an interview on the sideline of yesterday's press conference at the Martha's Place of Brokenshire
College, said the regional qualifying will determine the representatives to the national finals slated March 27 to 31 to be hosted by the city.
De Vera said, "The sportsfest will be played in three weekends until December. It will have the elementary, High School and college categories."
Events entered are athletics, badminton, basketball, table tennis, chess, taekwondo, soccer, swimming, volleyball and cheerdance.
Davao City National High School sports director Jose Alther Rivera, in a separate interview, said they will send a full delegation in the High School level.
"We will compete in all events. We have very strong teams in boys and girls volleyball although we may pull off surprises in other sports," Rivera said in the vernacular.
He admitted though that their swimming program is just starting and that their track and field athletes are mostly beginners.
Rivera added that the meet will be a good exposure for their athletes.
Other school heads and sports directors also attended yesterday's launch and press conference.
