Emar, Davao Jones axe wins

THE Emar Human and Environmental College (EHEC) and Davao Jones Academy turned back their respective rivals as the 9th Gaisano South (GS) Cup resumed at the Gaisano Grand Citimall SkyGym on Friday.
Emar defeated the Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP), 64-57, to post their third straight win in junior division 1 while Agro dropped to a 1-3, win-loss record.
Agro paced the match, 41-37, going into the final period where Emar dribblers rallied behind the heroics Danilo Daniolco who sank 13 points, including three crucial treys down the stretch.
Daniolco finished with 20 points, while teammate Yozi Manguilimotan chipped in 17.
Christian Carl Buano was Agro's only double-digit scorer with 10.
DJA, meanwhile, crushed the Philippine Women's College (PWC), 115-39, in their junior division 2-C. Nikko Libres sparked DJA with 18 while teammate Rhian Daverao added 16.
Games were being played as of presstime in the hoopfest presented by Gaisano Grand Citimall Ilustre Ad and Promo Management and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) under Mindanao Region B director Regino "Boy" Cua.
