DCNHS spikers show fiery form

NEWLY-crowned Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) secondary girls champion.
Davao City National High School (DCNHS) spikers kept their fiery form by posting their third straight win yesterday in the ongoing 10th Shakey's Girls Volleyball League Mindanao Leg at the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Bajada gym.
DCNHS, coached by Soledad Torino, spanked Tagum City National High School (TCNHS), 25-10, 25-11, to retain the top spot of Pool A with a clean 3-0, win-loss record. Torino's wards were still playing Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School, their last opponent in the eliminations, as of presstime.
The 2-1 General Santos City National High School (GSCNHS) placed second in the same group.
The Ateneo de Davao University, meanwhile, hacked out a 25-10, 25-14 victory over Cagayan de Oro City's Pilgrim Christian College High School (PCCHS) to snatch their second win in three outings. Ateneo held the second spot of Pool B behind unbeaten Iligan City National High School.
The final elimination games were being played as of presstime. The top two teams in each bracket will face off in the crossover semi-finals en-route to the championship set today.
The event is co-presented by Metro Sports under vice president Johanz Buenvenida and Mindanao Leg coordinator Abet Bernan. It is sanctioned by Balibolista de Dabaw under president Eric Lim.
