UBL-D League gets underway Saturday

IT'S all systems go for the United Basketball League Developmental League (UBL-D League) that will kick off on Saturday at the Margarita Gym along J.P. Laurel Ave.
Tournament director Rael Diaz, in an e-mail to Sun.Star Davao, said the cagefest will feature a total of 25 teams entered in the cadet and junior categories.
Teams entered in the cadet division are Assumption College of Davao (ACD) teams A and B, Davao Jones Academy (DJA), Mindanao Christian Foundation College and Seminary (MCFCS), Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJKIS), Stella Maris Academy of Davao (SMAD), Thompson Christian School (TCS), University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) and St. Peter College of Toril (SPCT).
The competing teams in the junior division, meanwhile, are ACD-B, DJA, MCFCS, PNJKIS, SMAD, TCS, UIC, SPCT, Brokenshire Science High School (BSHS), Philippine Women's College (PWC), St. Therese College of Science and Technology (STCST), Southpoint School (SPS), Lifestream International College (LIC), Ateneo de Davao University Team B (AdDU-B), Philippine Academy of Sakya (PAS) and Ilang Achievers Academy.
Medals and trophies are at stake for the winners in each category while individual awards will also be given away in the hoopfest backed by the Living Power International Corporation (LPIC) and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas under Mindanao Region B director Regino "Boy" Cua.
