1st Escandor Cup resumes Saturday

THE 1st Emilio D. Escandor Cup Memorial Basketball Tournament will resume on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym.

Tournament coordinator Jek-Jek Melendres said Tuesday: "It will be the battle of the undefeated and will feature teams that competed in the finals of the recently-concluded GS Cup."

The 8 a.m. curtain raiser will pit Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) against Ateneo de Davao University while Holy Child College will battle newly-crowned GS Cup champion Assumption School of Davao at 9:30 a.m. in the juniors division.

In Passerelle, the Ford Academy of the Arts will clash against Holy Child at 11 a.m. while the Ateneo mini squad will collide with Holy Child at 12:30 p.m.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)-sanctioned cagefest is presented by The Royal Mandaya Hotel owner and president Glenn Escandor in memory of his late father, businessman-sportsman Col. Emilio D. Escandor. (MLSA)
