Roma bags 12K crown

PAUL Roma captured the 12-kilometer (12K) title of the just-concluded EnviRUNment 2 held in an out-and-back course at the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Fr. Martinez Sports Center in Matina.
Roma clocked a total of 58 minutes to race past rivals George Garcia and Jasper Pagabangan who finished second and third, respectively, in the footrace organized by AdDU High School and Ecoteneo to promote awareness on environment protection.
Garcia timed 58:43, while Pagabangan registered one hour, three minutes and 48 seconds.
Glen Paolo Lumabao topped the 8K event by checking in at 43:09 followed by Jico Aquino (45:22) in second and Boboy Ancheta (46:09) in third.
James Castillo, for his part, annexed the 4K crown with a time of 16:14 while Franze Chavez (17:00) and Jonathan Ryan Lim (17:03) wounded up in the next two spots of the annual run managed by Vantage Sports Promotions.
Proceeds of the event will benefit Typhoon Pablo victims and various environment-oriented projects of Ecoteneo. (MLSA)
