D' Adventurers 1 grabs President's Cup lead

THE Adventurers-1 climbed from second place to snatch the lead in the SBC President's Cup Bowling Tournament that resumed Thursday evening at the Fairlanes Bowling Center.
Adventurers 1 hit a total of 2,340 pinfalls after four games behind the efforts of Joe Torres, husband-and-wife Nonoy and Che-Che Calida, Marlowe castillo and Senen Maligang.
All-ladies team Unicorn Bowlers, which placed fifth after two games, grabbed the second spot by rolling 2,297 pinfalls, while Jonzlibs, erstwhile seventh-placer, soared to third with 2,253.
First round leader Fairlanes, however, dropped to fourth with 2,229 pinfalls while defending champion Diagold Pawnshop, which was third in the opening round, garnered 2,227 pinfalls to wound up fifth in the seven-game elimination bowlfest organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club.
The Maxcey's Veranda (2,181) retained the sixth spot followed by Team BBAD (2,179) in seventh, Lady O Bowlers (2,147) eighth, Eaglets (2,132) ninth and Hotlegs (2,123) 10th.
Trailing behind were Bill's (2,122), D' Adventurers 2 (1,629) and NX Dreamers (1,597).
SBC president Emie Orteza said Games 5 and 6 will resume on Tuesday evening.
The top four teams will enter the step-the-ladder finals that offers P9,000 to the champion team. The next three placers will receive P6,000, P4,000 and P3,000.
Cash prizes will also be given away to all top individual, team single and double winners, highest pinning and highest individual average. (MLSA)
