THE 530-member Davao City delegation, which is set to defend the over-all championship in the 2013 Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet on February 25 to March 1, leaves for Tagum City at 8 a.m. Thursday via a convoy of 10 Davao Metro Shuttle passenger buses.
Department of Education (Deped) Physical Education and School Sports (Pess) supervisor Jimmy Cerojales bared this in text messages to Sun.Star Davao on Wednesday.
Athletes, coaches and officials were sent-off in a simple ceremony at Davao City National High School as of press time.
"We will be staying at La Filipina National High School, a two-kilometer ride from the Davao del Norte Sports and Cultural Center," Cerojales said.
He earlier said the city is poised to keep the over-all crown although he added they cannot be complacent as Davao del Norte, Tagum City, Panabo City, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao Oriental, Mati City, Davao del Sur, Digos City and Compostela Valley have also prepared for the regional meet that will determine the Davraa selection for the Palarong Pambansa slated April 21 to 26 in Dumaguete City.
Cerojales, however, assured that the city will dominate the ball games and other individual events.
Davao City is entered in all sports in both elementary and secondary divisions. (MLSA)
