Panday is Sara-Rody cycling open champ

ALFRED Panday crowned himself open division champion of the Mayor Inday Sara and Vice Mayor Rody Duterte 76th Araw ng Dabaw Cycling Challenge at Shrine Hills, Matina on Sunday.
Panday reeled past Dexter Nonato alson of Davao City and Herper Madero of Tupi, South Cotabato who placed second and third, respectively. Panday received a cash prize of P2,500 while Nonato claimed P1,500 and Madero got P1,000.
April John Maniyog of Kapalong, Davao del Norte topped the midget 20-under class over next two finishers Peter Gregorio of Tupi, South Cotabato and Eric Dave Apinar of Davao City to pocket the P2,000 top purse.
Multi-titled triathlete Mary Pauline Fornea, a University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao student, stamped her rivals Salome Talimba Fornea of Davao City and Rhea Jamisola of General Santos City who grabbed the next two places while Kenneth Ray Untalan of Kidapawan City annexed the cadet 15-under crown at the expense of Kidapawan's Javon Pancho and hometown bet Jay Liloc.
In the executive category, Gerry Castillones of General Santos City raced past Novo Rey Roble of Digos City and Dominic Carpio of Davao City while Eusebio Codilla of Matan-ao bested Elmerio Tan Savelino of Davao City and Marcos Platero for the 50 golden boys title.
Anette Manigad, chief of staff of former Vice Mayor Luis Bonguyan awarded the medals and cash prizes to all winners in the bikefest organized by Salvador Paholio, Jr. of PhilCycling and presented by the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.(MLSA)
