VISITING cue artists are expected to pose a threat to homegrown players when the Mayor Inday Sara and Vice Mayor Rody Duterte 76th Araw ng Dabaw 9-Ball Billiards Tournament gets underway on Saturday and Sunday at Jan Carlo Billiard Hall along C.M. Recto Street.
Davao Billiards Association, Inc. (DBAI) president Menlee Migellano bared this during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at Dexter's Pizza Stadium along McArthur Highway Matina on Thursday.
Migellano said pool players from Cotabato City, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, General Santos City, Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon are expected to arrive to contest huge cash prizes at stake in the tournament presented by the City Government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.
The champion will receive P20,000 while the runner-up will settle for P10,000. The next two players will pocket P10,000 and P5,000 while the top eight will each go home with P1,000.
Migellano said deadline of free registration is tomorrow at 12 noon.
Losers of every game, however, will pay the P30 table rental. (MLSA)
