THE Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) National Games 2014 will be held in Tagum City on April 6-12, 2014.
During the Davao Sports Writers Association Forum Boy Sarabia, Prisaa-Davao executive director, said this will be the first time that a city in Davao Region will host the event.
During the ocular inspection of the 16 regional presidents of Prisaa, Sarabia said they were impressed with the venues in the city, especially with the Davao Del Norte Sports and Cultural Complex.
He added that the accommodations for the athletes will be near their sporting venues.
This will also be the first time that some events will be played in the evening like the swimming events, track events, and soccer. Sarabia said that this will benefit some of the athletes since they will be able to take a rest in the morning as they prepare for the afternoon and evening events.
Sarabia hopes that Davao Region will have a higher placement in 2014 after they placed fourth in last year’s Prisaa. He said it will be somehow difficult for the region to place higher this year since some of the region’s star players will be playing for the bigger regions. Davao is not the only one experiencing this problem but also the other regions.
He also mentioned in the forum that he plans to propose to include paragames in the Prisaa.
Prisaa is an association athletic department of private schools, Christian schools, and home schools in the Philippines. It was founded in February 17, 1953 and organized by then Bureau of Private Schools Director Dr. Manuel Carreon.
