A TOTAL of 30 teams will see action in the Bingo Inter High-School Bowling Tournament that is set to roll off at 10 a.m. today, September 7, at NCCC Mall Davao B3 Center lanes.
B3 marketing assistant Frely John Ochia, who was a guest at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at Dexter's Pizza Matina Stadium on Thursday, said the University of the Immaculate Conception will defend its title in the event that will be played on three Saturdays until Sept. 21.
But UIC pintopplers will have their hands full as Brainworks, Philippine Women's College (PWC), University of Mindanao (UM), Green Meadows, Royal Valley, Emar, Precious, University of Immaculate Conception (UIC), Davao Jones Academy, Davao Christian School, AMA Institute, San Pedro College, Holy Child Academy, Good Soil, Macarius, Agro-Industrial Foundation College (AIFC) will also field their four-member teams.
Ochia said, "The teams will play five games in the elimination round while the top eight will advance to the quarter-finals through a single elimination format."
A cash prize of P12,000 and four cellphones are at stake for the champion team while the next two placers will pocket P8,000 and P4,000, respectively. Winners will also receive medals, gift certificates and trophies.
