Execs, employees rapid chessfest set-A A +A

THE first Davao Executive and Employee Rapid Chess Tournament will get underway on Oct. 13 at the NCCC Mall Food Cove Hall.
This was revealed by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) regional director James Infiesto in an e-mail sent to Sun.Star Davao.
He said the tournament is open to all passers of different board and bar exams, open to all employees, seniors, retired employees, entrepreneurs, and businessmen.
"They just have to present their professional IDS, senior citizen IDs, business permit, certificate of employment for proper identification," Infiesto said.
Cash prizes will be awarded to winners in the one-day, five-round Swiss System format competition.
The champion will receive P2,500 and a customized trophy while the runner-up will get P1,500 and the third-placer will take home P750 and medals. The next two chessers will settle for P500 each.
Medals also await the top executive, top employee, top unrated player and top senior.
Registration is P500 inclusive of lunch, snack, ID, certificate of participation, and NCFP rating.
The event is held in coordination with the Davao City Consumers Sports Cooperative (DCCSC).
