THE Davao Champions League (DCL) is down to its final 6 after the elimination games wrapped up Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym.
Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings trounced Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) Sharks, 61-40, at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym Sunday to secure the top spot of Bracket A with a clean 4-0 win-loss slate in the cagefest presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc.
JMC and 2-2 Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders booked tickets to the final six where the top two teams in each group will again play the single round-robin format.
In Bracket B, 4-0 DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP) Mariners and 3-1 University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats also advance.
The Mariners sank AMA Computer College Titans, 68-59, while the Wildcats ripped the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Eagles, 67-41, in Saturday games.
Completing the top six are 4-0 Agro Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) Sailors and 3-1 Ateneo de Davao University Blue Knights. The Sailors clobbered the RMC Bulldogs, 58-50, while the Blue Knights avenged their Dacs sportsfest loss to John Paul II College of Davao Saints by hacking out a 41-41 win in Bracket C of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas-sanctioned league.
Games will be played on Oct. 18 at the HCDC Gym and on Oct. 19 and 20 at the RMC Gym.
Cash prizes and trophies are at stake in the tournament.
