Milo race list-up hits 11,500; 10K, 21K divisions still open-A A +A

INTERESTED runners may still sign up for the men's and women's 10-kilometer (10K) and 21K categories as the 37th National Milo Marathon Davao elimination race hit 11,500 registrants as of Monday.
Davao organizer Kenneth Sai of Vantage Sports Promotions, in text messages to Sun.Star Davao Tuesday, said: "Registration for 3K and 5K divisions are already closed. Only 10K and 21K events are still open."
Registration is going on Adidas, second floor, at Gaisano Mall of Davao or online at www1.nestle.com.ph/milo/marathon/register.html.
Fees are P500 (10K) and P600 (21K). Walk-in registrants are advised to bring an empty Milo 300-gram pack upon registration.
Organizers expect some 14,000 runners on race day set Sunday in an out-and-back course from Roxas Avenue. The 2012 edition of the Davao leg had a turnout of over 13,000.
Cash prizes, trophies and medals await top leg finishers with the men's and women's 21K champions each receiving P10,000 while the runners-up will get P6,000 apiece and third placers will go home with P4,000 each. The fourth placers will take P2,000 each and the next six finishers will each settle for P1,000.
The first four 10K male and female runners, meanwhile, will claim P5,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000. The fifth to 10th finishers will pocket P500 each.
In 5K, the top four finishers will get P2,500, P1,500, P1,000 and P500 while the fifth to 10th runners will each take P250.
The boys and girls 3K top four placers will win P1,500, P1,000, P500 and P250 even as the fifth to 10th runners receiving P150 each.
