Vicente, Araral win open doubles title-A A +A

THE tandem of Barry James Vicente and Anthony Araral of Eco2 Tennis Club Courts of Davao City bagged the men's open title of the 2013 Prince Kadayawan doubles tennis tournament that wrapped up recently at the Eco 1 Tennis Center, Ecoland Subd., Matina.
Vicente and Araral combined efforts to beat Christian Fel Lopez and Osit Judaval of the Island Garden City of Samal, 6-3, 6-2, in their titular showdown.
Lando Ibarreta and Chito Tapucar of Eco 4 Tennis Club, for their part, annexed the class B 25-40 crown via a 3-6, 3-0 retire over Bong Galinato and Jimboy Kabigting of Eco 1 Tennis Club.
The class B 41-59 title went to Alex Ferrarin and Nestor Tabada of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) who spanked Danny Elliot and Ronnie Enanoria of Eco 2 Tennis Club, 6-3, 6-0.
Dondon Zamora and Gundam Boron of Eco 1 also shared the limelight by whipping James Magaoil and Carlo Lacerna of GEM Village, 6-0, 6-4 for the class C 25-40 title while Arnold Satorre and Rico Rebigan of Eco 1 survived a 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 victory over Joel Valmores and Nonoy Razul of Eco 2 in their class C 41-59 finals.
In the senior citizen category, Nards Rempohito and Sammy Araral of Panabo City demolished Felix Casas and Caloy Paquera of Eco 2, 8-4.
Champions received Prince rackets while the runners-up got racket thermo bags in the tournament organized by Davao Association of Tennis Clubs, Inc. and sponsored by Sports Resources Inc., dealer of Prince. Tournament director was Marivic Salvador. (MLSA)
