Dimakiling draws with American GM-A A +A

DAVAO City's international master (IM) Oliver Dimakiling, seeded 58th, halved the point with 11th-ranked grand master (GM) Jaan Ehlvest in Round 7 of the ongoing Indonesia Open Championship 2013 at Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Dimakiling, thus, made a total of four points to share the 31st to 51st place in the 11-round Swiss System format chessfest that attracted a total of 108 points in most parts of the world.
The Dabawenyo lost to No. 4 GM Eduardo Iturrizaga of Venezuela in the first round then bounced back to axe a win over Fide master (FM) Syarif Mahmud of Indonesia before splitting the point with compatriot 13th-seed Mark Paragua in the third.
Dimakiling then bowed to Indian GM G N Gopal in the fourth round but recovered by sweeping his matches over Indonesia Sutarno and GM Rustam Khusnutdinov of Kazakhstan.
He will next play against Filipino player IM Rolando Nolte.
Filipino GM Oliver Barbosa, for his part, drew with Vietnamese GM Cao Sang in the seventh round after 33 moves of a Caro Kann Defense. Barbosa was currently tied for 10th to 30th place with fellow Filipino GM Darwin Laylo.
Solo leader GM Aleksey Dreev of Russia led the charge with six points following a standoff with GM Surya Shekhar Ganguly of India.
Filipino IM Emmanuel Senador lost to GM Susanto Megaranto of Indonesia, GM Richard Bitoon subdued FM Paulo Bersamina, NM Emmanuel Emperado succumbed to WGM Batchimege Tuvshintugs of Mongolia, IM Kin Steven Yap beat IM Tirto of Indonesia, GM Eugene Torre settled for a truce with Surya Wahyudi of Indonesia and IM Ronald Bancod outclassed FM Firdaus Maksum of Indonesia.
