Sabaldan: Primarily Kannika Thipatchot-A A +A

SHAKEY’S V-League (SVL) Open Conference, the only volleyball commercial league in the country, has given us one of the most exciting seasons so far in its twice-a-year tournament, decade-long existence.
Moying Martileno, Ricky Palou and the rest of the organizing Sports Vision made this possible with the import-laden finalists Cagayan Valley Rising Suns and Smart-Maynilad Net Spikers starring Kannika Thipatchot, Phoemla Soraya for Cagayan Valley and Kesinee and Kotruang of Smart.
Thipatchot is to Cagayan Valley Rising Suns as Alyssa Valdez is to Smart-Maynilad in a duel of two power spikers that sent Game 1 of the Best of 3 Finals in full circle at 15-12 in favor of Cagayan Valley which steps up its unbeaten streak to 15 since day one of the open conference.
Cagayan Valley with a bevy of SVL and UAAP stars such as team captain Angelie Tabaquero, Aiza Maizo, Pau Soriano, Wenneth Eulalio including NCAA’s Soltones, has effectively dislodged the all-Filipino crew of Philippine Army Lady Troopers earlier despite the presence of the most experienced players of the league starring Tina Salak, Nerissa Bautista, Rachel Ann Daquis and the first Most Valuable Player of the league Mary Jean Balse.
If Smart Maynilad which is currently enjoying the services of Aleona Santigao of SVL 1st Conference Champion National U, best setter Melissa Gohing, utility spikers Charo Soriano and Maruja Banaticla cannot force a do-or-die Game 3, the Rising Suns will make history with an amazing 16 straight wins of a grueling all-stars tournament.
