SOME 70 bowlers are expected to see action in the 2nd Tide Marathon Tenpin Open that will roll off on November 12 at the NCCC Mall B3 Center lanes.
Entertainment marketing assistant Prely John Ochia, speaking before the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at B3 on Thursday, said most players will come from the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) and Durian Tenpin Bowlers Association (Dutba).
"This is an open tournament so we welcome players who are not affiliated with any bowling association," Ochia said.
He said all participants will play 20 games in the elimination set on November 12, November 19, November 26 and December 3.
After the series, the top 22 will play one game to determine the top 16. A sudden death game will also be held in the quarter-finals, semis and championship.
The champion will pocket a cash prize of P15,000, while the next two placers will receive P10,000 and P5,000. The three will also go home with trophies. The fourth-placer will settle for P3,000 and a medal. The next two players will each get P1,000.
The first and second day highest scorers, third and fourth day highest scorers and top qualifier after the elims will be rewarded with P3,000 each.
Registration is P1,000 per head with P100 worth of single-receipt purchase from any Tide products and photocopy of any valid ID.
